Switching accountant

Switching accountant? Easier than you think.

We handle the handover with your previous accountant and with HMRC, and check your next deadlines on day one so nothing slips.

How switching works

  1. Message us. WhatsApp, the website chat or the form — tell us what you need and who your current accountant is.
  2. We agree the scope and price so you know what you're paying for before anything starts.
  3. You authorise us. This lets us deal with HMRC on your behalf (and Companies House authentication details, if you have a limited company).
  4. Professional clearance. We contact your previous accountant in the standard, courteous way so the handover is proper.
  5. We take over. We gather your records, check what's due next, and look after it from there.

Have these ready

  • Your UTR and National Insurance number (or company number for a limited company)
  • Your last tax return or set of accounts
  • Your previous accountant's name
  • Any recent HMRC letters

Good reasons to switch

  • You want answers in your own language, on WhatsApp, at any hour
  • You want a clear price and a human who replies
  • Your business has changed — new limited company, income over £50,000, or CIS work

Not sure what you'd pay? Our Self Assessment page and limited company page show our prices.

Common questions

Can I switch part-way through the year?

Yes — you can change accountant at any time. The earlier you tell us, the easier it is to make sure no deadline is missed.

Do I have to tell my old accountant?

You can, but you don't have to — we'll make the professional clearance request ourselves, with your permission.

Will I miss a deadline?

We check your upcoming deadlines first thing and plan around them.

What if my records are a mess?

That's common. Send what you have and we'll tell you honestly what it will take to put things right.
